Social Media Journalist Job

We are seeking a skilled Social Media Journalist to create engaging, news-focused content across various platforms. This role involves producing short-form videos and written content that sparks conversations and connects with online communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce social-first news content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Research trending topics and conduct fact-checking to ensure accuracy and credibility.
  • Frame compelling angles for news stories and script narrative flows that resonate with audiences.
  • Create engaging captions, headlines, and hooks optimized for different platforms.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and viral content formats to ensure content remains relevant.

This position requires strong research and analysis skills, proficiency in video editing software, and the ability to craft concise narratives that bring news and facts to life.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in content creation, social media management, or digital journalism is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, their audiences, and content trends (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook).
  • Proficiency in video editing and design software (Capcut, Canva, or equivalent)
  • Ability to research and analyze news and factual information, with strong skills in fact-checking and distilling insights into clear, audience-friendly stories.
