Engineering Manager Job Description

We are building a comprehensive suite of multi-cloud and on-premise data solutions to support enterprise data needs.

The data platform team covers the full range of data stores and technologies, spanning from big data, NoSQL, cache-layer capabilities, and analytics; all the way to structured SQL engines like Postgres and MySQL.

Our goal is to deliver fault-tolerant mission-critical distributed systems and create the world's best data platform.

We are seeking technical Engineering Managers to lead teams focused on Big Data and MySQL databases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading by example and demonstrating sound engineering skills by directly contributing code when needed
  • Hiring, coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and ensuring the team has necessary skills and knowledge to succeed
  • Effectively setting and managing expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Advocating modern, agile software development practices
  • Developing and evangelizing great engineering and organizational practices
  • Maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence
  • Growing a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with our company values
