Role Overview

The Medical Coding and Clinical Content Specialist role involves providing clinical content support to healthcare organizations.

This position requires the ability to conduct research, identify claim denial or covered criteria, and provide written and oral presentations to medical directors and other clinical colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in nursing, an active RN license, and at least 5 years of experience in CPT coding, HCPCS, medical billing, claims denials, and/or chart review/auditing.

Additional qualifications include excellent communication skills, proficiency in MS Office applications, and a willingness to work on night shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and identify Medicare, Medicaid, and other medical coding and billing documents to identify claim denial or covered criteria.
  • Provide written and oral presentations to medical directors and other clinical colleagues.
  • Support customers with clinical content inquiries.
  • Enter data into databases as needed.
  • Solve problems related to inpatient coding or ICD-10-CM coding conventions/guidelines.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Active RN License.
  • At least 5 years of experience in CPT Coding, HCPCS, Medical Billing, Claims Denials, and/or Chart Review/Auditing.
  • AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications.
  • Flexible Work Schedule.
