Key Responsibilities:
  • Review financial data for accuracy of coding and compliance.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for various entity structures, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
  • Complete annual tax returns within business timeframes, meeting deadlines and regulations.
  • Assist with bookkeeping duties and BAS lodgment as required, maintaining accurate records and timely submissions.

Requirements:

  • Australian taxation and accounting experience is essential, with a focus on compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • At least 6 years' experience working with public practice or accounting firms offering Australian taxation services, with a strong understanding of taxation laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience in accounting for companies, partnerships, and trusts, including preparation of financial statements and annual tax returns, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Xero, XPM, and other accounting systems is necessary, with Xero Certified status being an advantage.
  • A sound understanding of the Australian GST system, including BAS and IAS, is crucial.
  • Experience with Office 365, Karbon, and SuperMate is preferred, but not essential.
  • Qualified Accountant/CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration and client engagement.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow process/system are vital for success in this role.
  • Proactivity, high organisation, and self-motivation are key attributes for this position, along with a willingness to continue learning and progressing in their career.

  • This is a full-time work-from-home role, requiring discipline and commitment to set working hours, with strict shift times and use of time-tracking software.
  • Active participation in team and client calls with camera ON is mandatory, with consistent availability and responsiveness throughout your shift.
  • Treating this as a long-term, full-time job, rather than a side gig or freelance task, is expected.
