Accountant Role Overview

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle finance queries in our ticketing system.
  • Manage daily receipting, monthly bank reconciliation, and bank account administration.
  • Invest and communicate term deposit maturity.
  • Prepare financial reviews and reports.
  • Forecast and manage monthly cashflow.
  • Perform year-end financial checks and accrual journals.
  • Prepare annual budget.
  • Issue contribution levies to owners.
  • Organize audits and liaise with external auditors on audit queries.
  • Onboard and offboard new/lost business.
  • Prepare quarterly BAS statements and review.
  • Review yearly tax preparation and review.
  • Update management agreements, including system updates and fee corrections.
  • Review bot exception reports and complete tasks manually.
  • Coordinate and manage Body Corporate loans.
  • Provide explanations or relevant information to various parties.
  • Attend finance meetings with clients as required.
  • Manage miscellaneous on-charging to owners.
  • Process payroll and superannuation for building managers employed by the Owners Corporation.
  • Conduct ad hoc bank deposit recalls and dishonoured payment investigations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualification in accounting or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in budget preparation.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Proven account reconciliation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in income tax and BAS are desirable.
