Job Description

The Java Ecosystem Engineer will focus on delivering the best possible Java runtimes and supporting tooling in Ubuntu. This engineer will enable Ubuntu users to access the wider Java ecosystem, ensuring mission-critical Java applications can be deployed and operated safely, securely, and efficiently on large-scale Ubuntu estates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver high-quality code and improve developer and operator experience.
  • Work on the architecture, design, and development of core components related to the Java Virtual Machine and associated tooling.
  • Review code produced by other engineers and discuss ideas to find good solutions.
Requirements
  • Passion for open-source software, Java, and Linux system and software architecture.
  • Ability to write high-quality code to create new features and debug issues.
  • Experience working with Java and other JVM languages worldwide.
