Job Title: Piping System Specialist

Piping system specialists are integral to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial facilities. Their role involves handling all aspects of piping design and drafting, including 3D routing, support placement, and creating fabrication/installation drawings.

  • Key responsibilities include performing piping drafting/design tasks, determining location of pipe supports, and creation of Isometric drawings necessary for the fabrication and installation of piping systems.
  • Must be able to read and interpret equipment drawings and technical data from third-party vendors.
  • Develops, quantifies, and organizes piping material take-off's (MTO's).
  • Fulfills company CAD standards and client piping specifications.
  • Ensures design compliance with respective client/company specification and codes.
  • Reviews and checks drawings produced by drafting.
  • Collaborates with designers and engineers within the engineering group, and from other disciplines, in a team environment to create multi-discipline design packages for construction.
  • Adheres to company policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook as well as safety guidelines.
  • Interfaces with designers from other disciplines to provide a complete 3D model that meets project requirements.
  • Has knowledge of updating Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).

Responsibilities:
  • Designs and drafts piping systems, including 3D modeling, pipe routing, and support placement.

  • Maintains piping system designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Participates in process improvements and development.
