Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in a remote position. This individual will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform sales reporting and analysis by reviewing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support business decisions.
  • Record and monitor cash collections to ensure timely receipt of payments and accurate accounting records.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work with the team on implementing and managing workflows and the closing process to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
  • Prepare clear and concise workpapers and analysis to support financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Report on financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner to stakeholders.
  • Prepare journal entries, schedules, and matrices to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with GAAP.
  • Execute journal entries and month-end close with little supervision to meet deadlines and ensure timely financial reporting.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks and lead special projects to support business objectives and improve financial processes.
  • Support implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to provide insights and support business decisions.
  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives to improve financial processes and support business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team and stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience to demonstrate expertise and knowledge of financial principles and procedures.
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Economics to provide a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and procedures to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with GAAP.
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook), as well as QuickBooks and other Finance & Accounting related software to efficiently manage financial operations.
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Seize opportunities to produce results without direct supervision to take initiative and drive results.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment to adapt to new challenges and priorities.
  • Skilled in analytical, quantitative, and social skills to effectively analyze data and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Good work ethic and outstanding time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to meet business-critical deadlines to support timely financial reporting and decision-making.
