Job Description:

The Reinsurance Accountant will assume primary responsibility for all aspects of accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts.

This role involves maintaining the accuracy of premium information on reinsurance contracts, including endorsements, premium adjustments, and cash allocations.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring aging of accounts receivable, performing monthly bordereaux reconciliation and data integrity checks, and preparing monthly/quarterly working papers for journal entries to record activities for the accounting close process.

In addition, this role requires reviewing and analyzing cash receipts, payments, and applications, as well as preparing monthly/quarterly reinsurance account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of the general ledger.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals. A strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative to work without supervision are also essential.
