Job Title: Healthcare Quality Assurance Specialist

The position involves collaborating with internal staff to develop and improve documentation, coding, and compliance capabilities. As a Healthcare Quality Assurance Specialist, you will assess and review the quality of coding on accounts completed by Medical Coders, ensuring adherence to workflows and ethical coding standards.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing quality coding review programs, communicating review findings and recommendations to coding management, obtaining statistics and information necessary to assess risk for all areas of coding, and providing guidance to team members.

This role requires advanced knowledge of professional coding (CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS) and proficiency in E/M and CPT procedure coding. A graduate degree in a medical or allied medical field or equivalent work experience is also required. Certification from AAPC and/or AHIMA is desirable, along with strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and ability to work independently in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, recognize, and develop a team of employees in all aspects of the job to meet objectives and maintain company culture, policies, goals, and procedures
Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in a medical or allied medical field or equivalent work experience
  • Certification from AAPC and/or AHIMA
  • Proficient in E/M and CPT procedure coding
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have willingness to adjust to changing job responsibilities, shifting schedules, new procedures, and unexpected workloads and stresses
