Technical Lead Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Technical Lead is to oversee the development and implementation of software applications. This involves guiding a team of software engineers in their daily tasks and activities, setting overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.

  • Providing technical guidance to the team on best practices, coding standards, and architecture decisions.
  • Anticipating dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Formal training or certification on DevOps concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Proficiently manage all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Development expertise, with specific focus on Java technology (Core & EE) with Spring Frameworks (Spring Core & Spring Boot) as well as Python development experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
  • Deep understanding of relational DB (Sybase & Oracle) and Stored Procedures.
  • Strong knowledge and application of SCM & Build tools (Maven, Jenkins, Git, Subversion, SONAR); DevOps knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
  • Experience with microservices, integration patterns, and messaging technologies (e.g., JMS, MQ Series, Kafka).
  • Experience with job scheduling technologies like Autosys and Control-M and testing tools like Mockito or JMeter.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications

The following skills are highly desirable:

  • Experience with caching solutions.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • UI development experience.
  • Experience in UNIX and scripting languages (Shell, Perl).
  • Cloud Development Experience.
