About this role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer II to join our team. This individual will be responsible for contributing to the improvement and maintenance of our software development toolkit.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in participating in system design and development, and exploring innovative technologies.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced developers in building robust platform systems that support modern investment applications.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work within cross-functional teams.

They will also have a solid understanding of cloud platforms, containerization, and database management.

In addition to technical skills, we are looking for someone who is passionate about software development, has a strong desire to learn, and is committed to delivering high-quality solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in developing and maintaining services for specific business use-cases.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices with peers.
  • Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure engineering activities align with business goals.
  • Communicate updates and changes effectively to relevant teams.
  • Maintain high code quality through code reviews and adherence to best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience working in a software development team.
  • 5+ years of experience developing with Java in production environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes).
  • Fundamental database skills (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Bazel and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience in Go (Golang) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Experience or interest in high-growth, high-traffic application environments.
