Job Overview

The Lead Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial management of a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all bookkeeping tasks every month.

This includes communicating with HMRC if necessary, reviewing and reconciling client accounts, and preparing monthly financial reports.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations, including accurate calculations, timely submissions, and full compliance with regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily bookkeeping queries and escalate complex concerns to the Client Manager.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of bookkeeping processes to support scalability and team alignment.
  • Act as a Bookkeeping Team Champion, providing guidance and ensuring consistency in using required software.
  • Collaborate with the Client Manager to identify training needs and process gaps within the team.
