Job Title: Building Integration Specialist

About the Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to work as a key member of our team, providing technical expertise and ensuring seamless integration of various systems. As a Building Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in areas such as HVAC, controls, and fault detection. They should also possess excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively collaborate with colleagues and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver onboarding projects and ensure timely completion of analytics tasks at a high level of quality.
  • Conduct onboarding activities such as installing data collection services, discovering data, and organizing for digital building engineers.
  • Troubleshoot diagnostics to perform automated fault detection on customer's HVAC equipment.
  • Review findings and validate results reported by software.
  • Provide training and engagement to customer and partner users specific to data transfer service, data connectivity, and related networking issues.
  • Ongoing support of connected sites.
Requirements
  • Confident, self-motivated, and able to quickly grasp new technologies.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers and partners.
  • Mechanical engineering or related technical degree or 5–6 years related industry experience.
  • 1–2 years hands-on experience in HVAC, controls, or fault detection and diagnostics.
  • Exposure to BAS protocols such as BACnet, Haystack, oBIX, and Modbus.
  • Exposure to BAS networking principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ideally, exposure to automated ongoing commissioning, fault detection and diagnostics, performance measurement and verification.
  • Ideally, exposure to metadata applications such as use of tags and standards, e.g., Project Haystack.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's in mechanical engineering (or a related technical degree) and an interest in building systems or significant field experience in a controls or services company serving the buildings industry.
  • Certificate or equivalent experience in basic networking or computer fundamentals (must be familiar with firewall, server, basic networking commands).
  • Learns technical and engineering solutions quickly and thoroughly and strives to improve upon them.
  • Can communicate technical information effectively to customers over the phone and through emails.
  • Can effectively manage multiple projects, in multiple countries, at the same time.
  • Thorough and analytical with good attention to detail.
  • Can creatively help streamline processes and find efficiencies for executing complex technical tasks.
  • Can effectively conceive of and communicate product development ideas to leadership and product development teams.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where work processes are still being established and constantly being refined.
  • Motivated about changing the built environment with a new generation of tools, technologies, and business models.
  • Desires to work in a close-knit, passionate environment where communication is key, and the learning experience is invaluable.
