Renewable Energy Project Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Professional to join our team at WHR Global Consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the project control process, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.
About the RoleThe Project Control Head will develop key objectives and direction for all Project Controls functions, including processes, procedures, systems, and resources. They will also oversee the development and maintenance of the project schedule, providing support, advice, and expertise to the contracts and commercial team in relation to contentious claims and disputes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain Project Schedule: Develops and maintains the project schedule, including resource loading, critical path analysis, and progress monitoring.
- Manage Project Budgets: Manages project budgets, tracks costs, and prepares financial forecasts.
- Identify and Mitigate Risks: Monitors and manages project risks, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks and opportunities.
- Ensure Accurate Reporting: Ensures accurate and timely project reporting to stakeholders, including progress updates, cost reports, and risk registers.
- Lead and Mentor Team: Leads and mentors the project controls team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in project controls in the energy industry, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and tools, including scheduling, cost control, contracts management, risk management, and reporting.
- Knowledge of safety and security requirements and regulations.
- Experience in managing a team of project control professionals.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as:
- Free staff accommodation onsite.
