Job Title: Title Examiner

We are seeking a highly skilled Title Examiner to join our team.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct thorough title research and analysis in an efficient manner, furnishing accurate final deliverables. The ideal candidate will possess strong research skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze vesting title, surface title, or mineral title using online resources and production history when required.
  • Communicate with field agents regarding necessary research to cover gaps, probates, district clerk, etc.
  • Examine documents provided by field agents.
  • Enter required data into CityVerse to generate necessary reports or utilize client-provided software to create reports.
  • Prepare flowcharts, plats & deed plots.
  • Review other agents' work and make corrections as needed.
  • Prepare final deliverable for submission to clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with others and function as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Fully comply with specific instructions regarding CityVerse and other software.
  • Perform title obligations consistently with title protocol directions.
Competencies And Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Research, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of strong background in conducting extensive research and a keen attention to detail is preferred.
  • Sufficient knowledge to quickly access online records and review documents to complete a chain of titles is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro for creating and organizing ownership timelines is essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate fully as a team player is required.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, present good planning, organization, and time management skills is essential.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily is required.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted) is mandatory.
  • Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and company policies and procedures is essential.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Highly knowledgeable in Oil & Gas Mineral Title and Surface Title requisites in various states is desirable.
  • Background in working with U.S.-based companies, particularly in the Oil and Gas industry, is highly valued.
  • Having experience as a Title Agent or with land title research is a plus.
