Software Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Linux-based infrastructure and applications.

The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects, including bare metal, virtualization, containerization, storage, networking, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with our Field, Support, and product engineering teams.
  • Participate in upstream communities.
  • Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion.
  • Review code produced by other engineers.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques.
  • Prioritize work and manage your time effectively against those priorities.
  • Participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Maintain clear, technical, and concise communications.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent technical skills and experience with Linux, open source software, and cloud computing. You should have a strong understanding of software development principles, coding practices, and collaboration methodologies.

You will also need excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
