About the Job

As a Senior Accountant in our Canadian team, you will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance to clients, preparing and reviewing detailed financial statements, and ensuring compliance with Canadian GAAP and tax regulations. You will also oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, conduct financial analysis, and provide insights to support client decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and review detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.* Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Canadian GAAP.* Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support client decision-making.* Prepare and review GST/HST filings and ensure timely submission.* Manage corporate tax returns and year-end tax filings in compliance with Canadian regulations.* Assist clients with tax planning and advisory services.* Process payroll for clients using tools like QuickBooks Payroll, Ceridian, or ADP.* Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll laws, including T4 and ROE preparation.* Handle payroll reconciliations and employee benefits administration.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.* CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred.* 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in Canadian accounting and tax compliance.* Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and payroll systems like Ceridian or ADP.* Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian GAAP, tax laws, and payroll regulations.* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.* Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.* Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
