Senior SMSF Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SMSF Accountant to join our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage SMSF accounting and compliance tasks, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, and reports for SMSF clients, providing clear and concise financial information.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory documents, maintaining high levels of quality and attention to detail.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations, and member statements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO and Superannuation Industry requirements, staying abreast of changing regulations and guidelines.
  • Work closely with auditors, administrators, and financial planners as needed, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for SMSF clients, adhering to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members, delivering professional service and support.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in SMSF workflows, driving continuous innovation and excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working with SMSFs in Australia, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong working knowledge of Class Super, with the ability to leverage its capabilities to drive business growth.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with expertise in reconciliations, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines, prioritising competing demands and responsibilities.
