Content Writer - Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Writer-Editor to join our team. As a key member of our content creation team, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing written content for college applications, providing detailed feedback, and emphasizing clarity, style, and structure.

The ideal candidate is familiar with the college application process, possesses exceptional writing skills, and can provide valuable feedback on nonfiction writing with an eye to style, structure, and intellectual clarity. This position requires a high level of skill and flexibility, as well as the ability to research a wide range of topics and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing and Editing: Brainstorm with our College Admissions Team's Consultants about essay direction, provide feedback to students, and edit students' rough drafts to improve grammar, clarity, style, flow, structure, and word count.
  • Research: Conduct research based on students' interests and profiles to strengthen their work.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Editing Team to help colleagues with drafting, brainstorming, augmenting, and reviewing assignments, particularly those with urgent deadlines.
  • Administration and Logistics: Manage administrative tasks associated with your assignments, including communicating logistical needs, organizing send-outs, drafting email updates, scheduling review meetings, and preparing meeting notes.
  • Business Development: Contribute to business growth during the off-season by working on projects that enhance our services and overall performance.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the college application process
  • Exceptional English verbal and written skills with strong grammar
  • Graduated from a 4-year degree program in English, Literature, Journalism, Education, or related fields; graduates from other fields encouraged to apply, but written samples will be thoroughly reviewed
  • Portfolio with minimum three written samples (one creative piece and one research sample encouraged)
  • Experience working in education consulting preferred but not required
  • Ability to edit and write without using AI tools
  • Willingness to participate in an internship day before training, which includes observing team workflow, engaging in editing tasks, and receiving feedback from supervisors
