Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Romance Novel Proofreader to ensure the quality and accuracy of our romance novels. As a proofreader, you will be responsible for reviewing manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation errors.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the romance genre and its unique elements. You will maintain consistency in voice, formatting, dialogue flow, and double-check continuity across POVs, timelines, character details.

To succeed in this role, you must have 2+ years of professional experience in contemporary romance, as well as 2+ published romance novels that you have reviewed. You should also have an advanced command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and an eye for detail.

  • Double-check continuity.
  • Flag potential errors or inconsistencies.
  • Provide actionable feedback through tracked changes and notes.
