
Senior Tax Compliance Specialist

This job role focuses on accurate tax preparation and compliance, including federal, state, local, and sales tax filings without requiring tax advisory services.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBO), bookkeeping, ProConnect Tax, and U.S. sales tax filings.
A professional with experience in these areas will be able to accurately prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses using ProConnect Tax, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
The successful candidate will also manage and file U.S. sales tax returns across various jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
This role involves maintaining clients' financial records in QBO Accountant, including reconciliations, transaction categorization, and troubleshooting discrepancies.
Routine bookkeeping tasks such as accounts payable/receivable management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports will also be a part of this role.
The selected individual will respond to client inquiries related to tax filings and bookkeeping with professionalism and clarity.
To succeed in this position, the candidate should stay informed about changes in tax laws and sales tax regulations, applying this knowledge to ensure accurate filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Manage and file U.S. sales tax returns across various jurisdictions.
- Maintain clients' financial records in QBO Accountant.
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks.
- Respond to client inquiries.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and sales tax regulations.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Enrolled Agent (EA) credential.
- At least 2 years of experience in:
- QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBO).
- Bookkeeping, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
- ProConnect Tax for preparation and filing.
- U.S. sales tax filings, covering multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, local, and sales tax laws and filing requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- High proficiency with tax and bookkeeping software.
