Freelance Research Evaluator

As a Freelance Research Evaluator, you will play a key role in the academic publishing process by thoroughly assessing manuscripts for journals and publishers. Your expertise in biochemistry and research methodologies will be invaluable in evaluating novelty, reviewing study design and methodology, conducting literature reviews, analyzing results and conclusions, and providing constructive feedback.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate Novelty: Determine whether the manuscript contributes new knowledge or insights to the field of biochemistry.
  • Review Study Design and Methodology: Ensure that the study design and methods are sound, comprehensive, and clearly described.
  • Conduct Literature Review: Verify that the manuscript incorporates and cites relevant, up-to-date research in biochemistry.
  • Analyze Results and Conclusions: Evaluate whether the results are presented clearly and appropriately, and whether the conclusions are supported by the data and significant to the field.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Suggest improvements or highlight any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in biochemistry or a related field.
  • At least two publications in the last two years in the field of biochemistry.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
