Job Description

As a Senior Specialist, Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for processing payments, coordinating with sites regarding supporting documents, developing training programs, and recommending process improvements across all business units. You will apply relevant internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley policy, and company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Training Development and Process Improvement
    • Lead a team in handling a continuous improvement project using a problem-solving methodology.
    • Assist in creating a training plan for new hires.
    • Provide work direction and guidance to junior employees when needed.
  2. Issue/Exception Items Resolution
    • Communicate issues/concerns regarding disputes by compiling all pertinent details in Share Point with an Issues Control Sheet.
    • Research, investigate, and gather information to clear aged unpaid invoices.
    • Analyze and evaluate progress of measures and provide recommendations.
    • Review and analyze requirements and approvals needed. Provide recommendations.
    • Provide Internal Control Inputs and progress of items highlighted/raised.
    • Perform SOA Reconciliations.
    • Review and analyze dispute requirements/change requests and seek clarification as needed.
    • Formulate alternative solutions on issues encountered.
    • Secure commitment on critical deliverables from stakeholders such as buyers, vendors, site finance heads, and approvers for issuance of credit/debit notes to offset, approval of variance to pay, etc.
  3. Payment Processing
    • Troubleshoot and fix major problems related to hold issues with the system (logical, system, database errors and changes).
    • Clear the dashboard, analyze, and resolve differences between subledger and ledger.
    • Reconcile SOA items, request copies of missing invoices, settle reconciling items, and recommend appropriate entries to post.
    • Resolve intercompany imbalances, prepare, and propose journal adjustments to fix.
    • Send balance confirmations to intercompany vendors.

  • Mid-Senior level accounting experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
