The ideal candidate will perform daily accounting tasks such as payroll processing, general ledger posting, accounts payable and receivable management, and financial reporting. They must have a solid understanding of standard accounting principles, practices, and procedures, including journal entry posting.
Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, cash flows, and tax returns for multiple clients and industries.
- Process bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and payroll preparation with precision.
- Review accounts for accurate postings and calculate retained earnings with attention to detail.
- Assist clients with accounting, payroll, and software issues promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns accurately and on time.
- Support the tax and audit departments with client information reports effectively.
- Prepare annual information returns (1099 & 1096) and sales tax returns correctly.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting data thoroughly.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field required.
- Experience working with US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills vital.
- Detailed and organized with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
