Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team in the Miami area. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in desktop and/or server support, with a strong background in Microsoft Server and Workstation Technologies. They will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our growing client base, including onsite and remote support, and will be expected to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze and document unfamiliar client/server network environments to identify the quickest path to resolution for incidents affecting the network.
  2. Rapidly analyze workstation/server level incidents and consistently demonstrate the ability to determine root causes.
  3. Handle diverse computing environments in a wide range of business settings.
  4. Develop client standards based on Thrive best practices and document needs across the client base.
  5. Troubleshoot server and network issues independently.
  6. Understand escalation notes and quickly resolve complicated technical issues.
  7. Provide consulting to clients on applications, Thrive's best practices and general computing processes.
  8. Escalate support, mentor and provide technical leadership to other engineers in the department.
  9. Identify opportunities for improvement while working in client environments and capture those opportunities in central information/documentation systems.
  10. Develop plans to resolve reoccurring issues through problem management.
  11. Review security best practices in relation to client environments to uncover potential risks and proactively resolve them as part of change management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Excellent problem solver with the ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks.
  3. 6+ years of desktop and/or server support experience.
  4. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  5. Experience designing network architectures inclusive of LAN/WAN networking and Windows Servers.
  6. Experience troubleshooting network configuration and hardware issues.
  7. Experience troubleshooting server hardware issues.
  8. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server and Workstation Technologies.
  9. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  10. Ability to articulate technical information and convey it to non-technical people.
  11. Excellent customer service skills.
