Job Title

The Head of Maintenance position is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring effective implementation of maintenance programs.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the maintenance team by implementing agreed policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Maintenance Programs: Promote and implement effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs for machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Spare Parts Management: Develop and maintain complete spare parts lists for all machines/equipment and ensure timely availability of critical parts.
  • Equipment Records & Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate reports such as breakdown summaries, job order status, and monthly synthesis reports.
  • People Development: Define training plans, coach and develop subordinates, conduct performance reviews, and promote multi-skilling of staff.
  • Communication: Cascade global and company updates to staff, ensuring alignment with corporate culture and values.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement equipment improvement actions, promote reliability engineering practices, and support efficiency initiatives.
  • Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities aligned with the role, as may be assigned by superiors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience: Proven track record in preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and fabrication jobs, preferably in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge in machine troubleshooting, repair analysis, and fault-finding; ability to interpret engineering drawings, symbols, and technical data; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google tools; knowledge of Lean/ Six Sigma tools and methodologies is an advantage.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership capacity and ability to coach and motivate teams; excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills; proactive, autonomous, and adaptable to change; goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
