This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Accounting professional to join our team. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in performing a variety of accounting-related functions.

Responsibilities include processing tax returns, coordinating the collection of required documents and information, bookkeeping, research, reconciliation, and budgeting. You will also be responsible for preparing tax projections and planning tasks for clients, handling correspondences with IRS and state agencies, and performing external bookkeeping tasks.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in tax and accounting software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, and CCH Access/ProFX Tax is essential.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tax returns, including personal and business tax returns
  • Conduct independent research of all necessary laws prior to submitting a return to the reviewer
  • Prepare tax return within budget and be able to access if additional time is warranted
  • Provide reviewer with a complete and accurate return to avoid open items
  • Prepare tax projections and planning tasks for clients
  • Handle correspondences with IRS and state agencies
  • Perform external bookkeeping tasks
  • Review all monthly and quarterly bookkeeping and perform relevant tasks
  • Adhere to all firms' policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field
  • Proficient in tax and accounting software/tools
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is a plus
  • Excellent grasp of all Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
