Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and experience with Linux and open source software. They will be responsible for resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.

The successful candidate will also participate in upstream communities, develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion. Additionally, they will review code produced by other engineers, demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques, prioritize work and manage their time effectively, and participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

For this role, we require an exceptional academic track record, a background in Computer Science, STEM or similar, and experience with Linux and open source software. The ideal candidate should also have experience with at least one of Python, Go, C or C++ on Linux and a drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues.

Additionally, the candidate should be willing to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events and possess nice-to-have skills such as loving technology and working with brilliant people, being curious, flexible, articulate, accountable, passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated.
