About This Role

The Data Engineering Technical Lead position entails overseeing the strategic development and maintenance of various IT solutions to ensure their reliability, scalability, and security. Effective engagement with stakeholders and delivery partners is crucial for aligning and executing prioritized initiatives.

  • Drive team alignment by fostering a clear understanding of global business priorities among team members. Attract, retain, and develop diverse top talent to support delivery organization needs. Promote a culture that values personal and process safety, recognizing team member contributions and accomplishments.
  • Partner effectively with peers at other locations, aligning and executing strategic initiatives that support digital enablement of business workflows. Manage overall team performance, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Oversee the execution and delivery of cost-effective, scalable, and value-driven IT solutions, integrating new technologies as needed. Empower others to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment, leveraging critical thinking and decision-making skills to adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Broad technical IT experience related to solution performance, reliability, cybersecurity, IT compliance, outsourcing, modernization, and agile delivery methodologies, offering hands-on technical direction to ensure solution scalability and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, coupled with at least 5 years of experience in a technical lead or similar role in data engineering. A proven track record of leading teams towards valuable outcomes.
  • Mastery in one of the data engineering sub-competencies – data analysis, data engineering, or data architecture, along with a deep understanding of full-stack engineering and infrastructure (e.g., Azure services, integration, and open source). Ability to design, develop, and improve complex data products, common information models, and data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing (e.g., Azure), scripting (e.g., Ansible, BASH, PowerShell), and data analytics will be an added advantage.
