Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Consultant to join our team. As a Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of Workday solutions by architecting, configuring and testing the software to meet the specific needs of clients.

You will work closely with team members, as well as independently to manage your own workload. Additionally, you will foster the development of other consultants by sharing your expertise, support proposal preparations, and deliver product demonstrations to clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide Expertise: Provide expertise in the Workday Payroll (including Absence or Time Tracking) product suite.
  • Lead Deployments: Lead deployments, including gathering and documenting client business requirements, designing and configuring the Workday solution, demonstrating configurations through the development of prototype systems, assisting in testing the Workday solution, and completing knowledge transfer to clients.
  • Data Conversion: Work with confidential client/data conversion teams to help convert legacy data into Workday.
  • Integration Consulting: Assist the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions.
  • Mentorship: Mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model, coaching others on product knowledge.
  • Complex Tasks: Resolve complex tasks/requirements when other team members need support.
  • Client Satisfaction: Facilitate clients' intellectual and practical adoption of Workday best practices, maintain ongoing satisfaction, and ensure Intecrowd is referenceable once in production.
  • Status Reports: Provide regular status reports to project managers, keeping them apprised of overall project status.
  • Innovation: Innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively.
  • Certifications: Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications.
  • Data Translation: Ensure functional solutions are compatible with downstream data translation, assist integrators in configuring/testing integrations between Workday and external systems.
  • Computational Thinking: Demonstrate computational thinking, identify problem components, analyze patterns, remove inefficient configurations or processes, and construct algorithmic solutions scalable to ongoing client needs.
  • Culture Building: Contribute to and mold a culture of continuous education amongst colleagues, mentees, and managers - serve as a professional role model.
  • Risk Identification: Provide insightful status reports to project managers that highlight risks to project health and improvements in client adoption.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years implementing a combination of Payroll/Absence/Time Tracking (PATT) Solutions.
  • Workday Certification: Current active Workday Payroll Certification.
  • Degree: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Consulting Experience: Previous consulting experience with a consulting/software company.
  • Application Experience: Previous experience configuring and deploying Workday, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, ADP, Ultimate or similar applications.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Functional Experience: Functional experience in one or more of the following areas: Payroll, Absence and/or Time Tracking.
  • Timely Management: Ability to effectively manage against timelines and goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Business Analysis: Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities.
  • Learning Ability: Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.
  • Multi-Project Experience: Experience deploying multiple HCM/Payroll projects simultaneously a plus.
