Overview

Peer reviewers are required to evaluate manuscripts for their originality, validity, and relevance to the field of geriatric medicine. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles within the relevant discipline.

Key responsibilities include assessing the novelty of the manuscript, evaluating study design and methodology, conducting a literature review, analyzing results and conclusions, and providing constructive feedback to authors.

The peer reviewer will work closely with journal editors to ensure that the published content meets high standards of quality and accuracy.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in Geriatric Medicine is essential.
  • At least two publications in the last two years in the field of Geriatric Medicine are required.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role.
  • Strong written communication skills are also essential for effective collaboration with authors and journal editors.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively is crucial for meeting project timelines.
  • Prior experience as a peer reviewer for academic journals is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Manuscript Novelty: Assess whether the manuscript presents new knowledge or insights to the field of geriatric medicine.
  • Study Design and Methodology Evaluation: Assess whether the study design and methods are comprehensive and clearly described to ensure reproducibility.
  • Literature Review Conducting: Check whether the manuscript incorporates and cites relevant, up-to-date research in the field.
  • Results and Conclusions Analysis: Evaluate whether the results are presented clearly and appropriately, and whether the conclusions are supported by the data and significant to the field.
  • Constructive Feedback Providing: Provide clear and actionable feedback to authors, suggesting improvements or highlighting any flaws or omissions.
