Climate Change Campaign Specialist

At the forefront of climate action, we seek a seasoned campaigner to spearhead our Global Risk Management initiative. As a pivotal team member, you will navigate risks associated with climate change, anti-democracy, and dis/misinformation.

• Engage with campaigns across various phases of design and delivery, providing a risk management lens to ensure effective mitigation strategies.
• Provide guidance and feedback on campaign materials and direction to internal teams and partners, focusing on compliance and safety risks.
• Collaborate with the Risk Manager and Executive teams to determine the appropriate path for escalation of high-risk activity.
• Support teams in identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks for projects during planning and implementation, addressing risk issues, and developing response plans.
• Review current policies and procedures to identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Operationalize and support internal governance processes related to managing campaign risks.
• Assist in creating country risk profiles when determining campaign feasibility and support legal teams in undertaking risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability through training, education, and risk management consultative support.

• Has experience in campaigns and risk management, preferably in an international organization or one with a global footprint.
• possesses strong cross-cultural experience and communication skills.
• Has experience working in asynchronous environments.
• Has a strong understanding of risk management methodologies and a willingness to adapt them to suit our organization.
• Exhibits strong facilitation skills, both individually and in groups, with the ability to hold complex conversations and manage disagreements.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Can build relationships across all levels and effectively communicate and manage interpersonal relationships within the network and Risk team.
• Is fluent in English, the primary language of our organization; additional languages are an asset.
• Has a genuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change.
• Disposes to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers.
• Possesses versatile and adaptable skills necessary to thrive in a fast-paced, wide-ranging work environment and work across time zones using tools such as Zoom, Slack, and email (Google Workspace).
• Commits to an inclusive and empowering approach to facing climate change.
