About This Role

A senior bookkeeper will oversee the onboarding and cleanup of client accounts, mentor junior staff members, and ensure that financial operations are streamlined and reliable. Meeting deadlines is crucial, particularly for month-end close.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify the quality of junior staff members' work.
  • Lead the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice preparation, approval flows, and reconciliation.
  • Manage onboarding and cleanup workflows for new clients.
  • Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures, checklists, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal standards.
  • Train and coach junior staff members, serving as an escalation contact.
  • Effectively manage multiple clients and meet all deadlines for month-end close.
  • Collaborate with team leaders on onboarding plans.
  • Communicate proficiently via email and Slack using alias accounts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Detailed understanding of US GAAP, full-cycle bookkeeping, and financial cleanup.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to processes.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and mentoring experience.
  • Track record of creating or refining SOPs and efficient workflows.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
