Job Overview

A commercial credit analyst plays a crucial role in evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers and assessing the risk associated with lending decisions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess the borrower's creditworthiness.
  • Evaluating the borrower's financial stability, repayment capacity, and the quality and value of the underlying collateral.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of the collateral to determine its value and marketability.
  • Analyzing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to assess the business's ability to generate sufficient cash flow to cover debt service.
  • Understanding and evaluating economic and industry-specific factors that may impact the borrower's ability to repay the loan.
  • Collaborating with loan officers and underwriters to structure loan terms and conditions that align with the borrower's needs while managing credit risk effectively.
  • Communicating credit decisions, loan terms, and conditions to borrowers and other stakeholders.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance and accounting, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. They should be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial credit analysis or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit risk management, and collateral evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
