Work Environment:

This role involves working closely with our team of accountants to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

This role includes preparing financial statements, managing tax compliance, and supervising junior staff members.

  • Financial Oversight and Reporting
    • Prepare and review detailed financial statements and cash flow forecasts.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submissions of VAT returns.
    • Support year-end financial reporting and audit processes.
  • Tax Compliance and Advisory
    • Manage corporate tax filings and assist clients with tax planning.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of payroll documents.
  • Team Leadership and Review
    • Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate accountants.
    • Review team deliverables for accuracy and quality.
    • Provide training and guidance to improve efficiency and knowledge.
  • Payroll Management
    • Manage payroll processing for clients, ensuring accuracy in PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
    • Utilize payroll software such as BrightPay or similar tools.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend improvements.
    • Leverage tools like Dext, Hubdoc, or Syft for automation and enhanced accuracy.
  • Client Engagement
    • Act as primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing strategic advice.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with 5+ years of accounting experience, including working with UK clients or firms.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and home office setup.
