The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting overall financial operations.
This role requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously, and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities- Financial Record-Keeping
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Ensure all financial entries are posted accurately to the general ledger and that accounts are reconciled regularly.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial statements: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Tax Compliance
- Assist in computing and filing taxes for the company (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax).
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring payments are made on time and accurately recorded.
- Audit & Internal Controls
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting materials.
- Banking & Cash Management
- Reconcile daily and monthly bank statements to ensure that company records align with the bank's records.
- Administrative Support
- Provide support to senior accountants, managers, or other team members in preparing reports, financial analysis, or any other accounting-related tasks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
- Licensed Accountant (CPA) is a plus, but not required for all roles.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
