
Australian Bookkeeping Specialist

Maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records is a fundamental responsibility of this role. The day-to-day activities involve recording financial transactions such as income and outgoings, and posting them to various accounts.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure timely and accurate Xero account coding & bank reconciliation for bookkeeping clients
- Process prepayments/Accruals/Fixed asset coding & reconciliations
- Manage payroll processing through Xero
- Process supplier invoices in Hubdoc
- Prepare BAS / IAS documents
- Process payroll - adding new staff, bonuses, benefits, etc.
- Conduct end-of-year payroll reporting
- Reconcile accounts at the end of tax year (June 30th)
- Declare worker compensation estimates and actuals
- Provide management with monthly Xero reports
- Grow into individual Australian tax return processing
- Identify potential risks for clients and the business based on data and observations from checks performed and provide recommendations to mitigate impacts
- Finance or Accounting graduate
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
- Complete knowledge of client accounts and businesses
- General AU Accounting/Bookkeeping experience with solid background
- Minimum 3 years experience in Australian accounts
- Knowledge of Australian Taxation and Compliance advantageous
- Hands-on experience with accounting tools like Xero and Hubdoc
- Experience in using Karbon not necessary but preferred
- Microsoft Office applications skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn new systems and tools
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
- Able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
