Job Description

The successful candidate will have the responsibility to operationally run the Statutory Center of Excellence (CoE) based in Global Business Solutions-Manila (GBS-Manila). The role involves managing local accounting and statutory reporting activities, overseeing external audit, and preparing financial statements and disclosures based on applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operationally lead and provide technical support to Analyst and Junior Analyst.
  2. Financial Statement Preparation and Local Statutory Reporting.
  3. Statutory Account Reconciliation.
  4. Annual closing as per Statutory books.
  5. Perform critical tasks.
  6. Review GAAP to Stat Journal entries, local account reconciliations, and submission of Trial Balance.
  7. Review of local Financial Statements and Disclosures, Statement of Management Responsibilities, and Financial Statement analytics (US to local GAAP; YoY) for completion and accuracy.
  8. Ensure compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements.
  9. Provide technical support for internal and external audits.
  10. Maintain relationships with other engagement teams (External Audit Team - E&Y, Internal Controls, GBS/GM Controllership) and monitor teams' progress against plan and drive performance as required.
  11. Identify potential issues and drive resolution (accounting or control related).
  12. Lead Process Improvement to drive efficiency and quality.
  13. Support and execute CPR projects covering Statutory record to report activities.
