Structural Design Leader

The Structural Design Leader is responsible for establishing and maintaining modeling standards. This role requires coordination with clients and participation in continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and create structural drawings and Revit models that meet quality requirements, including self-checking own work and project modelers, execution of advanced models, detailing, takeoffs, target value models, construction documents, special conditions/complex family creation, presentation considerations, BIM content standards, and development procedures.
  • Implement the Sprint plan by creating and communicating a plan of approach to the PM, understanding and documenting tasks to complete deliverables and estimate hours, committing and executing the plan, and reconciling the plan with the project team as needed.
  • Manage client coordination tasks, including proactive and effective communication with clients, collaborating and coordinating with other disciplines' design changes and model challenges, identifying underdeveloped areas in design, and providing high-level options for the technical lead.
  • Participate and execute continuous improvement activities, including seeking out and participating in continuing education, material groups, updating and improving standards and best practices, and growing proficiency in materials, markets, and project types.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; associates or combined education and experience.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional: Revit for Structural Design.
  • At least 3 years of full-time work experience in structural design.
  • Experience in mid-sized structural projects ($5M - $50M).
  • Minimum 3 years Revit Experience.
  • Working knowledge Tekla, SDS/2, and/or StrucSoft highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of concrete, steel, wood, light gauge, and/or masonry design.
  • Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed.
