Job Description

As a seasoned front-end developer, you will be working closely with the lead developer to deliver high-quality front-end development with clean code, modern tooling, and best practices. You'll be responsible for developing custom WordPress themes, building custom Shopify themes and extending functionality as required, delivering React-based front-end builds, including Gatsby for static and hybrid websites.

Key responsibilities include translating designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code, applying advanced site optimisation techniques, ensuring accessibility, responsive behaviour, and SEO best practices are consistently applied, and troubleshooting issues across front-end, WordPress, Shopify, React, and server environments.

Requirements
  • Strong ability to hand-code solutions rather than rely heavily on plugins.
  • Advanced experience with custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds.
  • Solid experience with React, including building projects in Gatsby or similar.
  • Deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices.
  • Proficient with CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data.
  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO.
