React Engineering Director

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of React Development to join our team at MetroMart Technologies Inc.

MetroMart is an on-demand grocery delivery platform that enables customers to purchase products online from their favorite local stores and have them delivered to their doorstep within 90 minutes.

The successful candidate will lead by example, guiding and mentoring the team as needed to ensure projects are accomplished as promised and deliver the expected outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Advance our architecture and abstractions to allow our code to continue scaling and feature teams to deliver with increasing autonomy.
  • Mentor team members on design patterns and code reusability.
  • Lead in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues.
  • Improve and maintain mobile apps CI and CD infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Build and maintain developer tools to help product teams work effectively.
  • Develop libraries and foundations in areas such as testing, analytics, networking, and logging.
  • Solicit feedback from the development team to drive a great overall developer experience.
  • Ensure performance and operational reliability of applications.
  • Create end-to-end system integration design and deployment strategies.
  • Create a collaborative development environment and encourage new ideas for finding solutions to common problems.
  • Develop high-quality software in React programming language.
  • Create scalable software systems.
  • Experience in project management process (i.e. Scrum) and leading team discussions/meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years developing mobile applications in Node, React, and NextJS.
  • 4+ years leading and guiding technical teams.
  • Deep expertise in React front-end development.
  • Strong architecting and design skills working directly with end clients.
  • Familiar with Git.
  • Excellent English communication (written and oral) with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
