Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in GST/BAS, payroll tax, and other Australian tax obligations within a consolidated group and joint ventures.

This role involves preparing and lodging monthly Goods & Services Tax (GST) Business Activity Statements (BAS) / GST Returns, using automated GST reports and ITX Edge tax software.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and lodging monthly Payroll Tax Returns and annual Payroll Tax reconciliation.
  • Calculating and preparing monthly Pay As You Go Tax Instalment calculations.
  • Reconciling monthly tax accounts (e.g. Income Tax Payable, WHT payable, PRT payable).
  • Preparing annual Australian Tax Returns for the consolidated income tax group and joint ventures using CCH Integrator tax software.

Responsibilities Summary

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and time management skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of tax experience required.
  • Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Tax degree essential.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
