Software Developer Role

We are looking for a skilled developer to join our engineering team. As a software developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Our team uses a variety of technologies, including Linux and open source software. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of programming languages, including Python, Go, C, and C++.

In this role, you will be working on complex problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software. You will also be collaborating with our field, support, and product engineering teams.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong academic background in computer science or a related field, as well as experience with Linux and open source software. You should also be proficient in at least one of Python, Go, C, or C++.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open source software.
  • Maintaining close working relationships with Canonical's Field, Support and product engineering teams.
  • Participating in upstream communities.
  • Developing bug fixes, backport patches, and working with upstream for inclusion.
  • Reviewing code produced by other engineers.
