Bilingual Research Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Research Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong research skills, be proficient in Japanese, and have experience working with patent data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct web-based research on technology-driven corporations and institutions to validate and quality-assure patent data.
  • Assign patents to their accurate commercial owners and verify their legal validity and remaining lifetime.
  • Process companies with patent records/information in Japanese.
  • Provide answers to Japanese-related patent questions for the Harmonization Team.
  • Conduct in-depth internet research to achieve high data quality in patents globally.
  • Identify patent ownership through extensive research on corporate structure, M&A, Spin-offs, company name changes, and patent transactions.
  • Perform quality control measures to ensure highly accurate and reliable data.
  • Validate, update, and verify customer information in the Harmonizer Tool.
  • Ensure updates or changes in customer databases are accurate and meet quality standards.
  • Meet or exceed productivity targets based on efficiency.
  • Identify future process improvements to further enhance team or individual performance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and team members to foster collaboration.
  • Ensure data standards and SLAs are met.
  • Communicate effectively on task and project status in progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree holder.
  • Intermediate to Advanced reading and writing proficiency in Japanese (Nihongo).
  • Experience in research, data quality, and analysis (preferably as Bilingual analyst).
  • Strong verbal and written proficiency in English.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams consisting of US and International-based employees, as well as customer resources in multiple locations and time zones.
  • Ability to provide detailed information and summarize effectively for management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within an environment of constant change.
