Content Editor Role Overview

Craft compelling narratives and shape the content that drives business forward. As a Content Editor, you will be a key contributor to proposals and presentations in pursuit of new accounts and retention of existing clients.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to transform complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and consistency of our content.

As part of a global team, you will work closely with proposal managers and designers to maintain high editorial standards and enhance the overall quality of our proposals.

Responsibilities
  • Review and edit completed proposals and presentations before submission to ensure they meet the highest standards of writing.
  • Perform quality control to ensure grammar, spelling, syntax, diction, and punctuation are accurate.
  • Suggest re-writes to improve clarity, precision, and brevity of content, collaborating with bid managers to verify accuracy.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand and writing guidelines and maintains CBRE's tone of voice.
  • Apply stakeholder feedback and revisions correctly.
  • Support sophisticated and complex proposals across regions and sectors.
  • Meet strict deadlines while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
  • Native English speaker with a strong command of U.S. English, preferably holding a BA/BS in English, communications, journalism, business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience editing and/or proofreading communications in a corporate environment, with expertise in marketing, business development, or proposal content.
  • Familiarity with standard style and usage guides, including the AP Stylebook and Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Intermediate-level command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to adapt writing for diverse audiences, considering varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and collaborate as part of a global team.
