Debt Recovery Specialist Role

To develop future leaders and drive economic growth, we are seeking a Debt Recovery Specialist to help individuals secure their financial futures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement debt collection strategies for past due accounts within 1-89 days to achieve set targets and maintain delinquency control.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with delinquent cardholders via telephone calls to identify trends and optimize collection efforts.
  • Manage escalated accounts, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), exceptions, disputes, and complaints, as well as agency-referred accounts.
  • Negotiate risk mitigation programs and payment arrangements to minimize losses.
  • Review and approve reversals and discounts, initiate/set-off outstanding balances from deposits within the organization or its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with collection agencies to resolve payment inquiries, provide client information, and compute payment arrangement details.
  • Ensure timely submission of commission schedules and requests for cashier's order cheques.
  • Conduct regular business reviews for assigned collection agencies to monitor collection efforts and payments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in business.
  • A minimum of one year of collections experience from credit card companies, banks, or collection agencies.
  • Minor leadership role is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with collection systems and policies/procedures is beneficial.
