Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend solutions that optimize database queries and enhance website speed.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build and maintain custom plugins and modules, ensuring seamless integrations with third-party systems and headless architecture.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining REST API and GraphQL endpoints, as well as applying advanced security measures to safeguard websites.

Your expertise in DevOps processes, including automated deployments, backups, and server performance tuning, will be crucial in maintaining system stability and uptime.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum experience in backend development with a focus on WordPress or Drupal
  • Strong knowledge of PHP and SQL
  • Experience with headless integration, including decoupled architecture and RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge and experience working with WPEngine and/or Pantheon
  • Ability to implement custom plugins and themes in WordPress or custom modules in Drupal
  • Understanding of web security best practices and ability to implement security measures for websites
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
  • Good understanding of hosting environments, server administration, and optimization techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and project management tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work with cross-functional teams

  • Frontend knowledge beyond basics to improve collaboration with frontend teams
  • Knowledge of advanced Drupal modules and WordPress plugin architecture
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of CMS-based websites
