Senior Accountant Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial services to clients across various industries.

About the Role:

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and other related documents.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accountants in their daily tasks.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client accounts and transactions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies to improve client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and process journal entries as required.
• Manage and maintain accurate records of client accounts, including ledgers and general ledgers.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to improve client outcomes.

Clients Services

• Provide exceptional customer service to clients through regular communication and timely completion of projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term growth and success.
• Work closely with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.

Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with junior accountants to develop their skills and knowledge.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accountants in their daily tasks.
• Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive team culture.

Requirements:

Qualifications / Skills

• Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong numerical and IT skills, including proficiency in Xero or other cloud accounting packages.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and meet targets.
• Experience in delegating and reviewing junior team work.
• Willingness to learn new systems and tools as needed.
