Accounting Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, tax returns, and BAS/IAS in line with Australian compliance requirements.
  • Client Support: Provide day-to-day support to Australian accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring seamless client experiences.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks to ensure timely lodgments and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Maintenance of Productivity Targets: Achieve and maintain an 80% productivity target while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in an Australian CPA/CA accounting firm.
  • Tax Compliance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Australian tax compliance is essential.
  • Languages: Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Independence and Time Management: Ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Xero Add-ons: Experience with Xero add-ons (Xero Practice Manager, Ignition, FYI) is desirable.
  • SMSF Compliance: Exposure to SMSF compliance is beneficial.
Essential Skills
  • Financial Statement Accuracy: Ability to prepare financial statements, tax returns, and BAS/IAS accurately.
  • Cloud Accounting Systems: Strong working knowledge of Xero and cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken English to liaise with Australian accountants, bookkeepers, and clients.
  • Cross-Zone Communication: Ability to communicate clearly across different time zones.
  • Time Management: Time management & deadline focus, especially with ATO lodgments.
  • Adaptability: Adaptability & willingness to learn.
  • Data Confidentiality: Confidentiality & integrity in handling sensitive financial data.
  • Error Resolution: High level of accuracy when entering data, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports.
  • Error Detection: Ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or potential issues and resolve them proactively.
Working Hours

38 hours per week between 9:00am–5:30pm AEST, Monday to Thursday, and 9:00am–3:00pm AEST Friday, with a 24-minute lunch break. If desired, extend working hours by 30 minutes each day, mutually agreed with the employer.

Travel Requirements

The offshore team participates in quarterly functions twice a year in Pampanga. You must be willing to travel for team bonding activities.
